SISTER Sunday - Nov. 16th

Please welcome our newest sister all the way from
Philippines :-)
Jeanie B. Nieva

Tell us about your family: I am the eldest of 3 girls and my parents are both teachers. In about a month, I will be marrying my best friend and the love of my life. No plans of having kids soon, maybe in 4-5 years.

Who/What inspired you to start scrapbooking? I found a book on scrapbooks in a second hand store and since I’ve always been into crafts (origami, jewelry making, quilling, etc), I was curious about this hobby. Needless to say, the curiosity has never worn off, in fact it keeps growing and I am enjoying myself immensely with this newfound craft.

Does anyone in your family also scrap? I was able to influence my youngest sister to start scrapping but she is not as hooked yet as I am. I say give her a few more months.

What size do you normally scrap? I started with 8x8 because I was intimidated by 12x12, I was worried I couldn’t fill it up. Now, I find myself running out of space in a 12x12.

What is your favourite colour scheme? I notice that I usually like to scrap bright colors and in varying shades of pink, green, red and blue. Although, I have been trying to be more adventurous with my color schemes lately, I have yet to still get over my fear of scrapping earth colors.

How many hours a week do you scrap? I try to scrap as much as I can mainly because it helps me relax and it is my creative outlet. Lately, I’ve been able to scrap an average of an hour or two a day.

What is one thing you always find yourself reaching for when creating a layout? Flowers, I am such a girly-girl. I am trying to stretch my creativity and scrap without flowers so I can expand my horizon and play with other embellishments.

Describe your scrapping style in just three words. "Cluttered/Layered", Girly and Fun
