SISTER Sunday - June 15th

Please help us welcome our newest sister - Amanda Laboy!

Tell us about your family: I am the other half to my adoring hubby of almost 10 years who supports my passion by looking at my layouts, oohing and aahing, and even gave up his office space so I could have an entire scraproom to myself. We have one very active 6 year-old son.

When did you start scrapbooking? I started scrapbooking about 9 years ago when I decided to scrap our wedding photos. But I officially became addicted about 2 summers ago when I discovered the online scrapping world.

Who/What inspired you to start scrapbooking? I was first introduced to scrapping by my older sister many moons ago (although I kept "scrapbooks" of memorabilia way back when I was a teen). Right after I got married I was invited to a CM party and bought my first small album, some paper, and gel pens….and I've never looked back.

Does anyone in your family also scrap? My older sister as well as my sister-in-law, both scrap…..unfortunately neither of them lives close so I scrap alone.

What size do you normally scrap? I prefer the traditional 12x12, but I do dabble in other sizes. Last week, I scrapped my first 6x12 and really enjoyed it.

What is your favourite colour scheme? Oh, I have so many…..but the ones that really stand out are blue/brown, orange/teal, and orange/pink.

How many hours a week do you scrap? During the school year, I probably manage to scrap an average of 15 hours each week (mainly on the weekends). But in the summer, I would say that almost doubles.

What is one thing you always find yourself reaching for when creating a layout? I almost always use my X-acto knife when scrapping. And I love chipboard and Thickers. You will find one or both of these on most of my layouts.
