WEB Wednesday - June 20

Well, school is out soon for most children. Just a couple of days to go here in Newfoundland. I thought I'd post some fun links for ideas to keep kids busy this summer! If your kids are like mine, you'll probably be hearing the dreaded "I'm bored!" soon. I had my kids sit down today and come up with a list of things they could do during the summer -- things besides playing at the computer or Game Cube, or Nintendo DS, etc.

Pudgy Bunny Coloring Book Great for the younger children, and also for those adults who still love to color :-)

Lisa Explains it ALL! This one is great for your teens who are wanting to make their own websites. Make that a project for the summer.

Summer Fun for Kids Lots of ideas here!

Fun-Attic Summer Fun Ideas Another big list of ideas

Storytelling Workshop - for those who are interested in creative writing/language

Book Club - start your own!

Here is what my 10 year old daughter came up with in about 5 minutes:

  • draw
  • read a book
  • write a book
  • go bird-watching
  • color
  • play with stuffed toys
  • play Lego or Playmobil
  • scrapbook (a girl after my own heart!)
  • bake cookies
  • play outside
  • visit my great-grandmothers
  • ride my bike
  • go to the playground
  • take a nap
  • clean my room
  • phone a friend
  • go for a walk
  • work on my blog

So, before your children get bored this summer, do a little planning and see what activities they can come up with, and...... don't forget that they DO need some time to just sit and RELAX! We all do :-)
