FOTO Friday - March 6th

Take a look at these fabulous photos!

I'll bet you've taken a few spectacular photos, too :-) Care to share some with us? If you post on your blog, leave the link so we can visit!

Here are three that I took, and I think they're pretty good. Straight from the camera -- I haven't mastered Photoshop yet. LOL!

These were taken with my brother's Canon Rebel. Would LOVE to have my own, but it sure is nice of him to let me use it for a bit.

Maybe I should send this link to my hubby --
I wonder if it would work........

TEXT Thursday-Mar. 5th

Have you ever written a poem for a layout? If not, why not try!!!
I have created layouts with poems on them.Here are a couple of examples:

The poem reads:

Never Again...Always Forever

Never again... Will I see his beautiful, unique half-smile,
Will he kiss me gently on the forehead,
Will we talk and laugh together in the quietness of the evening.
Always forever... I will hold sweet,precious memories of him close to my heart,
He will be with me wherever I go,
We will be father and daughter.

The poem reads:

The waves keep crashing
Year after year after year
On rocky seashores

Here's a link on how to write a haiku, an acrostic, a tanka, and a free verse.

Let me know if you've ever created poems for a layout and post a link to it.I'd love to see it!!!

TEACHING Tuesday - March 3/09

Happy Tuesday!

I'm still writing this post from Newfoundland. I'm at Deanne's house now, and will be heading back to Moncton early tomorrow morning! Can't wait to see my little girlies again, and my husband too!

Today I will try to explain how to create any size circle for your layouts. Unfortunately I cannot get my wireless internet to work, am working on Deanne's computer and do not have photos to show you.

To create an easy circle, all you need is a piece of string and a pencil.

~ Cut the string about 12 inches long.
~ Tie a knot at one end.
~ Place the tip of the pencil in the knot so that it's secure.

~ Decide how big you want the circle.
~ Hold the other end of the string at the length you desire, on the paper. (ex. if you want a circle that is 4 inches in diameter, then hold the string down on the paper at 2 inches from the knotted end.)

~ Use the pencil to draw around the end that you are holding, making sure to not take the pencil out of the knot until the circle is drawn all the way around.

You can even use this technique to create half circles or quarter circles. It's a cheap and easy way to create ANY size circle you want.

Hopefully, I explained it well enough without pictures.

Have a great day!

Sponsor for MARCH

Happy March everybody!

First of all we'd like to say a BIG thank-you to Jayne Jones from Feeling Scrappy for sponsoring us last month.

We have another awesome sponsor for March!

Stamping Bella is a Canadian site that "offers a variety of whimsical and funky unmounted stamps for your shopping pleasure."

Stamping Bella was created by Emily, AKA StampingBella, a mother of 2. She found her 'calling' after remembering how much she loved stamping as a child.

When you go to the site you will find a wonderful mix of fun stamps that are great to use for any scrapping project.

Stamping Bella is offering a gift certificate of $25.00 to one lucky random winner. To have your name in the draw at the end of the month, all you have to do is complete a weekly challenge! The more challenges you complete, the more times your name will go in the draw.

Thanks Stamping Bella for sponsoring this month.

SISTER Sunday - March 1st

Good evening, sisters :-) We're back from a weekend of scrappy fun! We're tired, but had a very productive time.

We are pleased to introduce you to our newest "sister" -- Christina Ayers

Tell us about your family: My husband and I will be married for 8 years this month and have a Brady bunch type of family. (His, mine, and ours). Amanda is very newly 16, we have two 13 year olds, Tyler and Taylor, and then there is Bayle who is a handful even at 7. We also have two cats, a puppy, and about 20 fish. A full house makes for a happy home!

Who/What inspired you to start scrapbooking? I started about 10 years ago when I forged a friendship with a co-workers wife. She introduced me to scrapbooking, and I have never looked back. Back then I could store all of my supplies in a box and now it takes up half a room. And had I known the obsession that it would create, I would have started so much earlier!!!

Does anyone in your family also scrap? My sister, my daughter, and my son. I love it when my son comes in to ask me if he can ‘craft’ with me. They create some of the pages that go into their own books, and it’s nice for them to look back and see their own progress.

What size do you normally scrap? 12x12 I have a book for each of our 4 children and then a main book for family pictures and such.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Look for more about Christina each Sunday this month!
Thanks, Ali!
We are so thankful to have had Ali with us for the month of February. Ali, you are a wonderful person and we enjoyed your enthusiasm on our blog. Thanks so much!!
