SISTER Sunday - Dec 7th

Our "Sister of the Week" is Tracy Kosofsky

Tell us about your family: I have been married to my husband, Adam for over 10 years and we have a daughter, Alexa who is 4 ½. We also have two German shepherds, a cat, and two big tanks of tropical fish. It’s quite a zoo at our house!

Who/What inspired you to start scrapbooking? Like many people, I started off by attending a Creative Memories class and never looked back!

Does anyone in your family also scrap? No, I’m all alone in my obsession – although that means gifts of completed scrapbooks are always appreciated!

What size do you normally scrap? I scrap almost exclusively either in 12x12 or mini album size!

What is your favourite colour scheme? My favorite changes all the time, although right now I love chocolate brown, gold and turquoise together.

How many hours a week do you scrap? Somewhere between 10 and 20

What is one thing you always find yourself reaching for when creating a layout? I scrap my "regular" layouts digitally, so my laptop!

Describe your scrapping style in just three words. Love to experiment!

Hi everyone!!! Hope you're able to get some scrapping done in between preparations for the Holidays!!!

Our sketch artist today is KRISTINE DAVIDSON!

Here's a little about her:

Hello, My name is Kristine Davidson. I live in Quispamsis New Brunswick with my husband of 7 years, and our 8 year old cat Eddie. I love spending time on the computer, taking pictures, and of course Scrapbooking!

I have been scrapbooking for 3 years and really have an addiction to anything scrapbook related! I love the creativity involved with making that perfect page or project and teaching others how to express themselves. I would say my style is a bit Romantic, Shabby Chic and maybe a touch of Whimsy.

I've had the opportunity to be on a few design teams and published in the Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine, Online Galleries for Cosmo Cricket, Three Bugs in A Rug, Making Memories, Rose Moka and Basic Grey!

Are you or someone in your family a collector? If so, what do you collect? Get some pics of your collections! Get a pic of your favorite and the one with the most amazing story surrounding it. Get pics of the funniest, oldest, newest, sweetest...

I collect plates with fruit on them, gingerbread and angel ornaments. My kitchen and other areas of my house display my plates.I decorate my kitchen with gingerbread during the holidays and my tree has almost 300 angels on it once decorated!!!

Make Flowers from Paper

I love to make flowers from paper. Its a great way to make sure your flowers match your papers and it's lots of fun. The first time I did it I traced around a chipboard flower onto the wrong side of my patterned paper and then cut it out. Then I went around the edges and middle of the petals with my embossing stylus to give it some shape. I then layered this with a real flower and a button.

Recently I did the same thing by tracing around chipboard and prima flowers of different sizes and styles and then I layered them.

You can also make your own flowers by using a stamp. Stamp on to the wrongs sides of different papers, cut out and layer. You could use different sized and styled stamps or you could use one stamp that has what appears to be layers within the stamp. I did that a while ago and loved the effect.

Time for another challenge this week.

Take a look around at all the scrapbook galleries you frequent! Do you see an amazing amount of LOs with birds, owls, butterflies, etc??

I know I do!

Today's challenge is to create a layout that shows one of these flying creatures in some way. Could be in an embellishment, a photo, even the title.
