About Laurel....

Favorite Adhesive: 3L Click & Stick mounting squares, but some of my friends are really trying to convert me to the Scotch ATG gun. I think I may cave soon!

How/Why did you start scrapbooking? I started scrapbooking in March of 2005, after the birth of my first son. I did my first layout and was hooked!

How long have you been scrapbooking?I have been scrapbooking for 3 years minus 9 months. Why the minus nine months you ask? I joined the military and went to Basic Training and on course for 9 months. I brought all of my stuff with me, but didn't really have the time to complete any layouts.

What is it about scrapbooking that you really love? Me time! I also love that I have a creative outlet and it is a great excuse to take LOTS of pictures of my cute boys!

How many hours a week do you scrapbook? Anywhere from none to 10 or more! It is really hard to keep track as I often leave a layout in process on the table and do a little whenever I have time.

How long does it take you to complete a layout? Anywhere from 15 minutes to two hours. It really depends on my scrappin' Mojo and distractions!

Where do you get your inspiration? Most of my inspiration comes from blogs like this one, as well as the forum at my favourite store.

Describe your scrap space. Do you like/dislike it? I have two 6' tables and 2 Rubbermaid storage closets. One table houses my stamp pad holder, my clip-it up, a 12x12 file holder, paper cutter and my tote full of scissors, pens, adhesive, etc. The other table holds my Cricut, sewing machine, and serger. I do most of my work on the first mentioned table. I also have a 5 drawer storage tower full of tools and embellishments as well as my MM Runway Tote full of paper and templates. The computer and filing cabinet are also located in my scraproom. I also have 5 shelves staggered on one wall to show off some of my work, hold my Cricut cartridges and Prima! I LOVE my room! It was one of my requirements for purchasing this house!

What are your favourite colours to scrapbook with? I'm really into Earthy tones and darker colors. I have a hard time with blue backgrounds for some reason!

Do you enjoy other crafts and/or hobbies? I am in love with photography and am currently taking a course. I hope to take a photoshop course in the near future as well! Every once in a while I will fire up the ol' sewing machine for some kind of project (curtains, bed spreads, hallowe'en costumes).

What scrapbook magazines do you read? I mostly read Canadian Scrapbooker. If any of the other magazines on the shelf catch my eye I may pick them up as well.

How thick is your cardstock and paper stash? Hmmm ... I'd say about 18 inches. I'm really trying to cut back and only buy what I need, but that's not working so well!

Are you an organized or messy scrapper? I would say my room is organized, but once I'm working, my table becomes messy!

Anything else you want to share? I just want to thank the Sisters for choosing me this week! I truly am honoured and I will wear the SOS badge proudly
