Sorry this is so late. Today is my wedding anniversary and so we went to dinner. Anyways......from Helen:

One of my favorite subjects in school was math!


One of my best friends teaches math!

My youngest son loves math!

I just watched Russell Crowe "A Beautiful Mind" (LOL)



My challenge to you is to create a layout or card with angles. You can angle your paper, your pictures, whatever you want. Lets see those angles!



This challenge, when completed, will earn you 30 points!!!

This weeks challenge is to do a monochromatic card or LO. Any color of your choice. Below is my example. Remember these challenges are worth more points to go toward your total points in the Summer Sizzler challenge. The challenge goes until August 22 so you still have time to earn points and play. This weeks challenge is to go to our freebie section of the forum and use one them on your creation. This is also an opportunity to get bonus points for the Summer Sizzler Challenge going on right now at SOS. See rules HERE. We are having a blast making LO's, cards and altered art. This Monday Mia set a challenge for you all. It is as follows:
Alright ladies, another excuse to get a lo done and get some points to tally up for Helen's awesome Summer Sizzler challenge!!!!!!!

MY REQUIREMENTS:

1) Be random (you all know that I am one random human!!! lol)
2) Get out the paint!!!! AND have fun with it!!!
3) White space! Leave some obvious white space.
4) Be transparent! Use a transparency or something else transparent!

To get extra points for our Sizzling summer challenge. In order to earn an extra 40 points you must do the 3 Monday challenges by July 4th. You still have time so get scrapping. Look Here for the June 7th, June 14th and June 21st Monday challenges. Complete them and post them to our new fabulous gallery to earn 40 extra points.

Sisterhood Summer Sizzler challenge

For the next 2 month you will earn points for everything you create and upload to the Sisterhood gallery!

The person at the end of the summer with the most points will win! Easy peasy!!!

Use the following point system for anything you work on during the challenge:

-12 X 12" layout = 5 points
-8 X 11 layout = 4 points
- anything smaller than 8x11 - 3 points (includes pba's !)
- Card = 2 points
- Photos = 1 point for each
- Journaling over 50 words = = 3 points
- Journalling under 50 words = 2 points
- 3+ patterned paper = 2 points
- Stitching (macine or hand) = 2 ppints
- Chipboard = 2 points
- Glitter = 2 points
- Bling = 1 point
- Ink or paint (of any kind) =1 point **including mists**
- Stamps = 1 points
- Ribbon or Fibre = 1 point
- Eyelets or Brads = 1 point
- Flowers = 1 point
- Rub-ons = 1 point
- Buttons (dead or otherwise!) = 1 point

Bonus point opportunities will be posted every Monday as well and you'll have until the following Sunday to complete them.

All projects must be uploaded to the gallery by Midnight EST on August 22 to be eligible for points.

You will need to keep track of your own points in the Sisterhood Points Tally Thread.

Here is an example of one:



LAYOUT 1 = 15 points
12 X 12 layout = 5 points
2 photos = 2 points
3+ pp = 2 points
Ink = 1 point
Stamps = 1 point
Ribbon = 1 point
Brads = 1 pont
rub-on = 1 point
Buttons = 1 point

You will also need to keep track of the following summary in your points tally:
1. Total # of Scrapping Poiints
2. Total # of Layouts completed
3. Total # of Cards completed
4. Total # of Bonus Opportunitis completed
5. Total # of Praise Points in the Gallery (see Praise Thread!).

At the end of the challenge, there will be lots of prizes for differnt categories along with some surprise ones so that everyone has a opportunity to be a winner!

SOS ultimate summer challenge

Have I got the ultimate challenge for my sisters here! This challenge will run for one month, and trust me, it will take you that long to figure it all out!

You need to create a ONE PAGE LAYOUT using as many of these ABC’s as you can.
I got all 26 on my layout, so I am sure you can too!!

The Challenge starts now and the deadline is midnight (EST) on Wednesday July 30th.

When you have completed it, please email it to me and I will post them all together on August 1st, and declare a winner! The one using the most letters will win!!
I will be posting this prize later, but I will tell you, it will be worth about $50.00!

I do want you to post here though when you are done and let everyone know what letters you did use! But DO NOT show your layout, only what you have used!
Email/send completed layouts Helen to hollys3401@rogers.com. I will save all the entries and post them all together at the end of the month!
Please do not post to your blog until the end, as that way, everyone will be doing their own thing!
You can just let us know how many of the alphabet thingys you used!

THE ALPHABET

A- alphabet letters

B- Borders, Blue, and Buttons: Use a border, some blue and a button or two.

C- Color Challenge: Use WHITE and 1 other color scheme for your layout.

D- Distressing Duo: use only 2 distressing Techniques!! Use tearing, inking, your edge distresser, crumple up your paper, etc.!!

E- Event: Create a Layout about an event (birthdays, sporting events, concerts, anything!)

F- Four Flower: Use at least Four Flowers.

G- Glitter: Use GLITTER somewhere on the Layout!!

H- Happy Birthday!!: Use these words on theLayout!

I- INK!: That’s right! Show us some ink.

J- Jewels: Bling it up with some Jewels.

K- KISS!!: Use the word Kiss somewhere on the Layout.

L- Lime Green and Lace: Use LIME GREEN and some Lace!

M- Movie Title: Use a Movie Title somewhere on the Layout.

N- Numbers: Show a number(s) on the Layout.

O- OOOOOOOOHHH!!!! We want to see some CIRCLES!

P- Plenty of Pretty Patterned Paper, Please! Use at least 3 different pattern papers.

Q- is for Quiet! Use a photo(s) of someone doing something quiet such as sleeping or reading a book!

R- The 3 R's - Ribbon, Rubons and Red

S- Stitching: Use hand or machine stitching on a layout. (No stamped or doodled stitches for this one!)

T- Turquoise and Thank You. Use the word of Thanks and use the color of turquoise.

U- is for YOU!! That's right! Do a Layout about YOU!!!

V- Violet: Use the color Violet (Purple).

W- Water: Create a Layout that contains a Photo with water in it.

X- X-treme Shape: Use an unusual shape. Can't be a square, circle, or rectangle.

Y- YUMMY!! Show some YUMMY food on the layout!

Z- ZigZag
