FOTO Friday - May 29/09
Dh and I just got back from the garden centre where we picked up a LOT of flowers for my garden and veggies for his garden. We weeded the flower garden last week nad he's got his veggie garden all ready. We're just waiting for the last night of frost to be done.
For today I'd love for you to share a picture of your flower or veggie garden. Here's what our garden looked like 2 years ago, and one of Sara sitting next to her pumpkin. This past year we even grew watermelons!

TEXT Thursday - May 28th
Lately, I've been spending a lot of time researching my family tree. I've been finding it so exciting! I sit with my grandmother some evenings and just ask a few questions about her childhood. She has so many fascinating stories to tell -- like the first time she ever swore! Her idea of a swear word was nothing like today's words, let me tell you.
In the photo below (my nan is on the left) she told me she was around 20 years old at the time, working as a house-cleaner for $6 a month. She saved two months wages to buy the suit she had on; it cost $10. In the photo is also her brother and his wife.
I only wish I had realized earlier the importance of getting these stories down on paper. As scrapbookers, I'm sure we all want OUR stories to be told, but let's not forget the older generation that still have things to tell. I encourage you to seek out your grandparents and great-grandparents and transfer some of their stories to your layouts before it's too late.

I haven't run out of questions to ask her yet, but if you struggle as to what to ask your relatives, there are many journal prompts to be found online. This one has a nice gift idea. Make a journal jar and send along with a notebook to your relatives.

CHALLENGE Monday - May 25/09
Welcome to Monday!!
Anyone else feel like I do, and wonder what happened to May?? Here it is...the final week of May, ALREADY!! Wow! Summer is well on it's way in here in NB and it's exciting to be getting the gardens ready, enjoying longer evenings outside with the kids, and days with sunshine!
But, for this morning, before I head out into the sun, we have another challenge for you. (And don't forget to head over to the forum at www.sisterhoodofscrap.com to chat with us there too!)
Today's challenge is for you to create a 'NON-PEOPLE' LO! You can create with photos of animals, toys, flowers, or no photo at all!

Have you ever taught a scrapbooking class? I have taught a couple minibooks to friends of mine. Nothing I got paid for though.
Have you ever been published? Yes, I have been published in ScrapStreet magazing and Ready, Set, Create. Both of these are monthly e-zines. I have also been published on the Basic Grey website gallery.
What type of camera do you use? A Canon point and shoot, nothing fancy for me.
What would be your perfect day? Any day without laundry is a perfect day for me!
I can't imagine my life without .. my family.

TEXT Thursday May 21
Oh boy! So sorry this is late but today's been rather tough here in my area.There was an accident last night and a young boy lost his life in a motorcycle accident.Speed was a factor in it :o( He was in grade 11 and my own boy (Alexander) was to graduate tomorrow night but the staff and students felt that they couldn't go ahead with it and cancelled it and will choose a later date for the graduation ceremony.
My challenge for you is to blog and use the words LIFE, LAUGH and FRIENDS in your post. I posted earlier and here's a link to it. It's quite a sad post but it's what's happening right now to us, our surrounding towns and school. Your post certainly doesn't have to be sad.In fact I hope it isn't. So sorry that my post is, but eventually life will go on, we'll all laugh and listen and tell stories about how silly and fun this boy was and we'll have friends to help us through the tough times.

TEACHING Tuesday - May 19/09
Welcome to Tuesday. All day I've been thinking it was Monday. LOL
First of all, On behalf of the Sisters, we'd love to have you join us at our new forum Sisterhood of Scrap . This forum used to be the Scrap My Memories forum and since Zoe was going to close it down soon, we figured we'd jump in and take it over! And we are having a blast. We will be announcing details about our grand opening soon, but in the meantime come join us at the forum and bring your friends! The more the merrier.
And, if you were already a member of the Scrap My Memories forum, just log in as you always have.

I found this amazing blog the other day and I was very intrigued by what I saw!
Pink Paper Pepermints has so many great crafting ideas, but when you click on that link it'll take you to a whole bunch of flowers! She created a group of posts called "31 Crafty flowers in 31 days". Go check them out. You will get so many great ideas!!
